TL;DR — RACE WEEKEND GAME PLAN
- 1.Stay in Changi Business Park. Dorsett or Park Avenue puts you 7 minutes from the hall and removes race-morning transport entirely.
- 2.Arrive two full days early if you are flying long-haul. Singapore is UTC+8 with no daylight saving, and humidity adaptation matters as much as the time zone.
- 3.Transport: tap a contactless card at the MRT gate. One stop from Changi, four minutes on foot from Expo MRT Exit A.
- 4.Check your wave time before booking flights. With four race days and waves running to 8:00 PM, a Sunday evening start makes a Sunday night flight impossible.
- 5.Food: Great Nanyang or Paris Baguette for early breakfast, FairPrice Xtra from 8:00 AM for supplies, MarketPlace @ EXPO from 11:00 AM for the post-race meal.
- 6.Shakeout: Bedok Reservoir, five stops direct on the Downtown Line. Before 8:00 AM or after 6:00 PM.
- 7.Recovery: book Joo Chiat or Katong ahead for the day after, not race day. Phoenix Rehab in Tampines is the Sunday physio option.
- 8.Buy spectator tickets in advance for any day you are not racing.
- 9.Hydrate from the day before you fly. Most Singapore blow-ups are two days of unnoticed fluid loss, not the race itself.
- 10.Avoid: hiring a car, planning breakfast inside the venue, sightseeing on foot the day before, and trusting booking sites that still call the Dorsett 'Capri by Fraser'.
QUICK TAKE — IS THIS A GOOD DESTINATION?
VERDICT: YES
AIA HYROX Singapore runs Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 November 2026 across four days of racing at Singapore EXPO, 1 Expo Drive. This is the lowest-friction major venue on the calendar: Expo MRT (CG1/DT35) is about 4 minutes on foot via Exit A, and Changi Airport is one stop away — roughly 4 minutes on the train, 10 by road. You can land, clear immigration and be standing outside the hall inside an hour. The venue, the station, four hotels, a mall, two supermarkets and a 24-hour gym all sit inside a 600 metre radius. It suits everyone, but especially first-time international racers and anyone who has been burned by a logistically messy race weekend.
⚠️ Caveat: Cost level is mid to high — accommodation and flights are the expense, though food and transport are cheap and the MRT will cost you under S$5 a day. HYROX has published 'Runs: TBC' and lists the race halls, check-in location and check-in times as TBC. The final division each day is estimated to start around 8:00 PM, Thursday through Sunday, so check your wave before booking flights.
One MRT stop from a major international airport, with hotels a 7 minute walk from the hall. The main stressors are jet lag and a four-day schedule that may put your wave at 8:00 PM.
Air-conditioned halls on a flat concrete floor are a genuine advantage over outdoor and stadium races in this region. Points come off for long-haul travel, the humidity you carry into the building, and heat build-up in a hall holding several thousand people.
FAST COURSE?
Depends. The hall environment is favourable, but HYROX has published 'Runs: TBC' for this event, so the run configuration is not confirmed. Treat the layout as unknown until the technical briefing drops.
CITY VIBE — WHAT ATHLETES NEED TO KNOW
Singapore EXPO sits at the edge of Changi Business Park in the east of the island — a purpose-built exhibition venue with 10 column-free halls and around 123,000 sqm of indoor and outdoor space. Almost everything you need is sheltered or underground: Changi City Point connects to the station via a B1 underpass, which matters when a thunderstorm arrives. Travel friction is very low once you are on the island and potentially high getting to it, depending on where you fly from. Food and transport are cheap by comparison with the flights and the hotel.
TYPICAL WEEKEND COSTS
Language: English is an official language and everything is signposted in it. Currency: Singapore dollar. Card and contactless are accepted almost everywhere, including most hawker stalls; carry a small amount of cash for older hawker centres and wet markets. Tipping is not customary and not expected — restaurants typically add a 10% service charge plus 9% GST, shown as '++' on menus. Tap any contactless Visa or Mastercard, or Apple Pay or Google Pay, straight at the MRT gate through SimplyGo; foreign-issued cards attract a small daily admin fee of around S$0.60.
BEST BASE NEIGHBOURHOODS
Changi Business Park and Expo
Best for: Minimum friction. Walk to everything, quiet at night, thin on character.
Changi Airport and Jewel
Best for: Short trips and awkward flight times. Everything open late, expensive.
Tampines
Best for: Value and food. Three MRT stops on the Downtown Line, large malls, hawker centres, real neighbourhood feel.
Katong and Joo Chiat
Best for: Recovery studios and eating well. Around 30 to 40 minutes away, so only worth it if the trip matters more than the race.
VENUE & LOCATION ANALYSIS
Singapore EXPO
1 Expo Drive, Singapore 486150
Ten column-free halls across roughly 123,000 sqm. That scale matters: walking from one end of the complex to the other can take 8 minutes or more, so getting off at the right exit saves real time. Exit A serves Expo Drive and Halls 1 to 6, plus Halls 7 to 9, Max Pavilion and Max Atria; Exit C serves Halls 7 to 9 specifically; Exits B, D, E and F serve Changi Business Park, Changi City Point and the hotels. HYROX has not yet published which halls the race occupies, or the athlete check-in location and times — both are listed as TBC. Check the event page in the week before you travel. What is open early: Singapore EXPO itself 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, FairPrice Xtra 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Great Nanyang Heritage Cafe and Paris Baguette from 8:00 AM. MarketPlace @ EXPO, the food court inside Hall 5, opens at 11:00 AM — do not plan breakfast there. Changi City Point as a whole opens at 10:00 AM.
NEAREST STATIONS
- Expo MRT (CG1/DT35), Exit A — About 4 minutes on foot to the hall entrances. East-West Line and Downtown Line
- Expo MRT, Exit C — For Halls 7 to 9 specifically
- Expo MRT, Exits B, D, E, F — For Changi Business Park, Changi City Point and the hotels
- Changi Airport branch frequency — Every 7 to 9 minutes at peak, every 12 off-peak — less frequent than most visitors expect
WALKABILITY
One of the best on the calendar. Station to hall in 4 minutes, hotels in 7, step-free throughout, and covered for most of the route.
Excellent, and almost all of it is sheltered or underground. Changi City Point connects to the station via a B1 underpass. Inside a 600 metre radius you have four hotels, a mall, two supermarkets, a pharmacy, a sports shop and a 24-hour gym.
🏃 RACE MORNING PLAN
Staying in Changi Business Park: leave your room 45 minutes before your reporting time. That is a 7 minute walk with 38 minutes of buffer, and you will want it for bag drop and the warm-up queue. Staying in town: add 45 to 60 minutes and build in a transfer at Tanah Merah, because the Changi Airport branch runs every 7 to 9 minutes at peak and every 12 off-peak. Queues form at the station faregates immediately after a wave finishes, and at the taxi stands at Foyer 1 and Foyer 2 in the evening — if your race ends late, walk to Changi City Point and order a ride from the mall driveway instead.
TRANSPORT LINKS
BEST AIRPORT: CHANGI AIRPORT (SIN)
There is no second option and no reason to want one. The venue is 5.4 km away, one stop on the East-West Line, roughly 4 minutes on the train and 15 to 20 minutes door to door for S$1 to S$2.
Changi Airport (SIN)
5.4 km from the venue. MRT East-West Line is one stop with no transfer — fastest and cheapest. Taxi is 6 to 10 minutes at S$15 to S$25 metered plus an airport surcharge of roughly S$3 to S$6, higher Friday to Sunday. Metered taxis add 25% during weekday morning peak and 50% between midnight and 6:00 AM, so a Sunday evening finish may land inside a surcharge window.
Time to venue: 15-20 min door to door
Getting to Singapore EXPO
PUBLIC TRANSPORT TIPS
- Among the best anywhere: air-conditioned, clean, punctual and signposted in English.
- Tap any contactless Visa or Mastercard, or Apple Pay or Google Pay, at the gate through SimplyGo. No local card needed.
- Foreign-issued cards attract a small daily admin fee of around S$0.60. An EZ-Link card costs S$5 non-refundable and avoids that fee.
- The Singapore Tourist Pass is around S$17, S$24 and S$29 for 1, 2 and 3 days, and only pays for itself at roughly 6 or more trips a day — for a race weekend based at the venue it almost certainly will not.
- Expo is a shuttle branch: for anywhere other than Changi Airport you change at Tanah Merah. The Downtown Line runs direct from Expo towards Bugis and Chinatown, which is often better for the city centre.
- One variable to check: the Downtown Line Stage 3 Extension, adding Xilin and Sungei Bedok, is scheduled to open in the second half of 2026. No confirmed opening date had been announced as of August 2026.
🚕 Taxi / Uber / Ola
Metered taxis from Changi run S$15 to S$25 plus an airport surcharge of roughly S$3 to S$6, higher Friday to Sunday. A 25% surcharge applies during weekday morning peak and 50% between midnight and 6:00 AM. Ride-hail through Grab, Gojek or TADA gives upfront pricing but surges on arrival waves. After an evening wave, the Foyer 1 and Foyer 2 taxi stands back up badly — walk to Changi City Point and order from the mall driveway.
🚗 Driving
Parking at the venue is S$1.80 for the first hour, S$1.80 for the second, then S$1.50 per subsequent 30 minutes with no daily cap, so a 10 hour race day runs past S$27. Rates apply every day including public holidays. Renting a car for this race weekend makes no sense. Skip it.
WHERE TO STAY
Dorsett Changi City Singapore
Near venueS$200-350 per night
Best for: Racers who want to roll out of bed and walk to the hall
Studio-style rooms from around 32 sqm with kitchenettes, which is unusually useful for race nutrition. Gym with sprung flooring, outdoor lap pool, 24-hour laundry room, and Changi City Point 3 minutes away for food and supplies. Expo MRT is 4 minutes. Honest tradeoff: this was Capri by Fraser Changi City until it was rebranded in late 2024, so several booking sites still list the old name and some guest photos predate the change. Guest reports of the spa and steam facilities being out of service have appeared more than once — do not book on the strength of the sauna. It also sits in a business park, so weekends are quiet in a slightly deserted way.
Park Avenue Changi
BudgetS$130-220 per night
Best for: Keeping cost down without giving up the walk-to-venue advantage
Straightforward business hotel at 2 Changi Business Park Avenue 1, with a basic gym and breakfast included on most rates. Quiet at night and Expo MRT is within a few minutes. Honest tradeoff: rooms are dated and the gym is basic. Guests repeatedly describe the air conditioning as aggressively cold, which some people sleep badly in. There is no pool and no recovery facility.
Crowne Plaza Changi Airport by IHG
Mid-rangeS$280-450 per night
Best for: Tight flight schedules, or anyone racing Thursday and flying out Friday
Attached to Terminal 3, so you can check out and be at your gate in minutes. Good gym, well-regarded outdoor pool, effective air conditioning and blackout, strong soundproofing, very late checkout often available and food at all hours in the terminal. Honest tradeoff: you are living in an airport and it feels like it. Rates run high, and you give up the walk to the venue in exchange for the walk to the plane. Some guests report ambient light in rooms making sleep harder.
S$400-700 per night
Best for: Bringing family, or turning the race into a proper trip
Resort property on a golf course at 11 Laguna Golf Green. Large pool, full spa and massage on site, generous breakfast, quiet, considerably more space than anything in the business park, and a complimentary shuttle if booked ahead. Honest tradeoff: the walk is realistic in the morning and unpleasant in afternoon heat or rain, so budget for taxis. Food options on site are limited and there is no halal dining. It is a resort, not a race hotel, and the pace reflects that.

WHERE TO EAT
💡 Smart move: MarketPlace @ EXPO inside Hall 5 does not open until 11:00 AM, and Changi City Point as a whole opens at 10:00. Before 9:00 AM your only walkable options are Great Nanyang Heritage Cafe and Paris Baguette at Changi City Point B1, both from 8:00 AM. For anything earlier, buy it at FairPrice Xtra the night before and eat it in your room.
Great Nanyang Heritage Cafe
Athlete PickChangi City Point B1, 6 minutes from the venue. Rice and noodle dishes until 8:30 PM daily, and open from 8:00 AM every day including Sunday — one of only two walkable breakfast options before 9:00 AM. For something more substantial, Gigi Gastrobar in the same mall runs pasta and pizza until midnight on weekdays and 10:00 PM at weekends.
MarketPlace @ EXPO, Hall 5
Athlete PickInside the venue, roughly 3 minutes from the finish, open 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. A food court rather than a destination, but it is fast and it is right there. If your wave is late and you finish after kitchens close, Simpang Bedok at 288A Bedok Road trades 24 hours and is about 10 minutes by car.
Paris Baguette, Changi City Point
Athlete PickOpens 8:00 AM every day. Food Arena food court on Level 2 also opens 8:00 AM daily. Watch the weekend shifts: Huggs Coffee is 7:30 AM weekdays but 9:00 AM Saturday and Sunday, and Luckin Coffee is 7:30 AM Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM Sunday. For a Sunday morning wave, Great Nanyang and Paris Baguette are your only walkable options before 9:00 AM.
FairPrice Xtra, 8 Changi Business Park Avenue 1
Athlete PickOpen 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM every day, 8 minutes from the venue, and the better option for early and late runs. FairPrice Finest in Changi City Point B1 is closer at 6 minutes, but listed opening times vary between sources from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM — treat the mall standard of 10:00 AM as the safe assumption.
THINGS TO DO
Gardens by the Bay and the conservatories
Pre-RaceCool, flat and off your feet. The National Gallery and ArtScience Museum do the same job on a wet afternoon.
Jewel Changi Airport
Any TimeOne MRT stop away. The Rain Vortex and gardens make a gentle hour without committing to a trip into town — useful for spectators between waves too.
Katong and Joo Chiat
Post-RaceLaksa and Peranakan food, which pairs neatly with a recovery studio booking in the same neighbourhood. Marina Bay delivers the skyline version, and Clarke Quay is the default for a bigger night out.
Changi City Point outlets
Any TimeNext to the venue, with factory outlets for adidas, Nike, ASICS, Puma and others. Absorbs a couple of hours between waves. Keep your own pre-race plans flat and indoors — people routinely arrive at the start line with 20,000 steps already in their legs.
RACE STRATEGY
VENUE
Treat the layout as unconfirmed. HYROX lists the run configuration for this event as TBC — the number of laps, the turn count and the roxzone geometry are not published. Watch for the technical briefing and the venue map in the final week.
COURSE FLOW
Singapore EXPO halls are column-free, which gives organisers room for a long open loop rather than a tight multi-turn one. Nothing is confirmed, so do not build splits on it.
RUN SURFACE
Almost certainly hard flat concrete under event flooring, which is fast and unforgiving. Unverified until the floorplan drops.
HEAT
The air conditioning is the story. Athletes at previous HYROX races here singled it out as a relief compared with the stadium alternative. Do not over-read that: a hall with several thousand athletes, spectators and stage lighting warms through the day, and Singapore's ambient humidity comes in through every open door. An 8:00 PM wave will meet a very different hall from the 8:00 AM wave.
ELEVATION
None expected. This is a flat single-level exhibition hall with no ramps.
⚠️ WHERE PEOPLE BLOW UP
Two specific risks. One, arriving already dehydrated — you will sweat walking 7 minutes outdoors in 31 degrees and 85% humidity, and people land, lose fluid for two days without noticing, then cramp on the lunges. Start hydrating the day before you fly. Two, pacing the first run off the back of the air conditioning: the hall feels cool for the first kilometre, and that comfort is misleading if you have been in tropical heat for 48 hours. Run the first lap on feel, not on your home-gym splits. With four race days rather than the usual two or three, per-day density should be lower, which is generally good for clean stations and honest splits.

RECOVERY SPOTS
ICE BATHS / COLD PLUNGE
REVERSE, 171 JOO CHIAT ROAD
Open 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. Contrast therapy in private suites with sauna, cold plunge and en-suite showers, plus red light and hyperbaric options.
📍 ~30-40 min by car
Best use: The morning after, or the evening of a midday race. Book ahead, especially on the Saturday.
W5 RECOVERY CLUB, 75 CARPMAEL ROAD
Open 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM daily. Cold plunge, sauna and a cryotherapy cabin.
📍 ~30-40 min by car
Best use: The afternoon opening suits a post-race visit but rules it out as a pre-race morning option.
SAUNAS & SPAS
NOTHING DEDICATED IN CHANGI BUSINESS PARK
The recovery studios cluster in Katong and Joo Chiat, about 30 to 40 minutes away by car.
Best use: Given the travel time, the pool and any working sauna at your hotel may be the more sensible call on race day itself.
HOTEL FACILITIES
Dorsett has an outdoor lap pool, Dusit Thani a full spa and large pool, Crowne Plaza a well-regarded outdoor pool. Dorsett's spa and steam rooms have had repeated out-of-service reports.
Best use: Confirm at booking rather than assuming.
PHYSIOS NEAR VENUE
Phoenix Rehab Physio & Hand
9 Tampines Grande, open Saturday and Sunday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, about 10 minutes by car. The Sunday physio option.
Core Concepts / BMJ Physiotherapy
Both operate from Tampines Plaza but close Sundays. Fine for a weekday race, no use on the Sunday.
WEATHER STRATEGY
LATE OCTOBER CONDITIONS
November marks the onset of the northeast monsoon. Expect daytime highs around 31°C, overnight lows around 24 to 25°C, and average relative humidity near 85%. Rainfall averages roughly 250 mm across around 19 rain days, making November the second wettest month, with the highest frequency of lightning in the year. Thunderstorms typically arrive in the afternoon and early evening.
- The lightest vest and shorts you own — the hall is cooled but you will still sweat heavily
- A compact umbrella or packable rain shell for the walk in, which is partly exposed
- A light layer only for over-air-conditioned indoor spaces, which in Singapore is a real thing
- A dry top for immediately after
- Two pairs of socks
💧 Hydration
Begin the day before, and add electrolytes rather than relying on water alone. You will lose fluid just walking between the hotel and the hall.
🏟️ Indoor vs Outdoor
Indoors is air-conditioned and a genuine advantage, though it warms through the day. Outdoors is 31°C at 85% humidity with afternoon and early-evening thunderstorms.
SHAKEOUT RUN ROUTES
EASY 5 KM — BEDOK RESERVOIR PARK
A 4.3 km loop on packed gravel and paved path around the reservoir, flat, well lit and used constantly by local runners. Get there direct on the Downtown Line to Bedok Reservoir station, five stops from Expo with no change. Surface is roughly 90% gravel with a gradual rise at the finish end. Several toilets around the park plus one at the HomeTeamNS building, and three hydration points around the loop. Park gates 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Shade is patchy, so go before 8:00 AM or after 6:00 PM.
🏃 Parkrun
Bedok Reservoir parkrun runs every Saturday at 7:30 AM, free, 5 km, starting at the reservoir's floating platform — that falls on Saturday 28 November, inside race weekend. Register online first and bring a scannable barcode or you get no time; arrive by 7:15 AM for the briefing. If you race on Saturday, this is not your shakeout. East Coast Park parkrun offers the same 7:30 AM Saturday slot slightly further west.
🏟️ Track Access
No public-access track confirmed within walking distance of the venue. Bedok Reservoir on the Downtown Line is the better option for anything structured.
Well lit and busy from early morning, traffic-free once you are on the loop. The heat is the hazard, not the surface — go before 8:00 AM or after 6:00 PM and carry fluid.

VENUE DAY TIMELINE
SPECTATOR GUIDE
BEST VIEWING ZONES
- Tickets are required and this catches people out: your athlete wristband gives you venue access only on the day you race
- Entering on any other day, including to watch a partner or teammate, requires a spectator ticket — buy in advance
- Exhibition-hall races generally give better sightlines than stadium events, because the course is on one level and the roxzone is visible from the perimeter
- Specific viewing zones for this venue are not published
- Air conditioning is a genuine advantage for spectators, who otherwise spend the day standing in the tropics
FAMILY LOGISTICS
- Toilets: permanent facilities throughout the venue, plus more at Changi City Point 6 minutes away
- Food: MarketPlace @ EXPO in Hall 5 from 11:00 AM, plus the full Changi City Point offering nearby
- Seating: not confirmed for this event. Assume limited and standing-heavy
- Noise: loud. Bring ear defenders for young children
- Pram access: step-free throughout. Every Expo MRT exit has barrier-free access and the venue is single-level
📍 MEET-UP PLAN
Agree a point outside the hall rather than inside, because phone signal in exhibition halls with several thousand people is unreliable. The Changi City Point B1 underpass entrance is sheltered, easy to describe, and 6 minutes from the finish.
